Reinventing Myself as a Bookworm

Author’s Note: Sorry that I’ve been MIA for oh so long. My life got so hectic that I put my blog in the back of my mind. But I’m back now with so many things I want to talk about. So stay tuned. Thanks!

It is such a relief to finally get some time to read books, tons and tons of books. As a bookworm, I love browsing through the aisles of fiction, nonfiction and classical books in Barnes & Noble. I will always give a novel a chance whether it’s boring or extremely intriguing. I will always finish a book even if it bores me to sleep. I guess you can say that I’m a dedicated bookworm.

It’s been a year since my last fun read thanks to a highly demanding schedule of school and work. I missed cuddling up on my bed, reading a good book with a glass of red or white wine. I’m so excited to get back into my bookworm routine. So to help me get back on track, I have found the Gilmore Girl’s reading list challenge.

Although it’s an extensive list (might take years), I can’t wait to start on my condensed list of novels for the summer.

“Anna Karenina”- Leo Tolstoy

“The Count of Monte Cristo”- Alexandre Dumas Pere

“Daughter of Fortune”- Isabel Allende

“Fahrenheit 451”- Ray Bradbury

“The Godfather: Book 1”- Mario Puzo

“The Great Gatsby”- F. Scott Fitzergald

“The Hunchback of Notre Dame”- Victor Hugo

“Little Women”-Louisa May Alcott

The first novel that I will start with will be “The Great Gatsby.” I need to reread this novel before I see this highly anticipated film with Leonardo DiCaprio. I have this thing where I have to read the novel before seeing the film adaptation of it. In many instances, I believe the novel is so much better than the film. By the way, have you heard some of the songs from their soundtrack? One word: AMAZING!

Let me know if you have any recommendations of novels that you just absolutely loved. I’ll add it to my 8 pages of books to read.
